    Departmental Introduction:

Medical Laboratory Technology also called Clinical Laboratory Science is an allied health profession which is concerned with the diagnosis of a disease through the use of Clinical laboratory tests. These tests help doctors to detect, diagnose and treat disease. A Medical Laboratory Technologist does these tests by analyzing body fluids, tissues, blood typing, microorganism screening, chemical analysis, blood cell count etc. They play an important role in collecting the information needed, sampling, testing, reporting and documentation of these investigations. They determine the presence or absence and extent of disease and provide data needed to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment.

Certificate course, Diploma course and Advanced Diploma course in MLT are earned while pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Science.

This course is in the Dept. of Microbiology of the College.
