Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) is a 3-year undergraduate level Bachelor’s Degree course, rather a vocational training program, at par with traditional Bachelor’s Degree courses. It is usually a skill development program that includes extensive training and hands-on experience in a particular field. This new age method of education i.e. UGC sponsored B.Voc. course in Medical Laboratory and Molecular Diagnostic Technology was started at Sevadal Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur in the session 2018-19. The course is designed to improve the skills and employability of the students and concentrates not only on the theoretical knowledge, but also focuses to sharpen the skills and expertise of the students through its practical way of training. The course is largely targeted towards youth who want to enhance their employability opportunities to learn, earn and grow.
The aim of the course is to train the students to become industry ready and give the students excellent opportunity to acquire skills and apply them in the six months internship training which a part of their curriculum. Well qualified, committed and dedicated teaching staff members, well developed infrastructure, enriched library facility, best laboratory facility available in the college and extensive training of the students in various aspects related to Medical Laboratory Technology -turns them into skilled Medical Laboratory Technologists.
Field visits and Guest lectures by experts from industry are a routine practice to add greater dimension to learning beyond classroom teaching. Students are regularly assessed by conducting Unit Tests, Seminars and Preliminary Examination.
